    2024 Festival Newsletter

We are excitedly counting down the days til we gather on the slopes of Bull Run Mountain again for the 30th annual Mountville Folk Festival! The gates open at 5pm Friday June 21st for a fabulous evening of music, followed by a full afternoon and evening of music again Saturday June 22nd - over 10 hours of live music on the main stage in a beautiful and uncrowded setting, with friendly people enjoying a great weekend music experience together. Best part is, you're invited!

If you follow us on Facebook or got our initial “save the dates” email back in early April, you know that we've had to change how we do some things so we can sustain all the precious things. Here's your update on that, plus your chance to order T-shirts and see the lineup.

    A QUICK UPDATE

First on that list is that welcome to our website at http://MountvilleFolk.org! We're continuously updating with this year's festival info as we post it, and check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page with all the answers we could anticipate you wanting and much more (which means that we don't have to send a 3-page email Newsletter at the beginning of June!).

If you've already emailed your RSVP yes or maybe to us, thank you! We're hoping to have a big turnout for the whole weekend, so if you're planning to come please do email us with who you are, how many are coming with you, and what town/area you're coming from as well. We'll be responding to all of those emails with address/directions in early June. We'd love to share the Mountville 2024 experience with you!

If you'd like to volunteer, our "SignUp Genie" is all ready: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F084CA9AC2BA0F94-48880471-mountville. There are perks to helping out, but many hands make light work AND new friends, as well as supporting an experience that's important to you too.

And we do intend to livestream both days for people who live too far away to make it - but we hope you'll make plans to join us in person! (Lots of useful Travel & Lodging info on that FAQ page.)

GRATEFUL FOR YOUR GENEROSITY HELPING BUILD OUR FUTURE

As you may have seen in our email or social media, challenges in the music industry and rising costs have forced us to change our “donate what it's worth to you when you arrive” economic model of the past three decades. This is especially important in helping sustain our performers, who've historically volunteered their time because they would sell plenty of CDs and other merch to make it a worthy investment. To everyone who has donated already, a huge and heartfelt thanks for each of those gifts small and large.

If you are able and willing to donate in advance, all the links (including mailing checks) are at http://mountvillefolk.org/support, or you may use these directly:

    • Credit card (securely via Square):  https://square.link/u/ioB4cc0l
    • PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=8SWJ6NK3UKEJQ
    • Venmo: http://venmo.com/mountvillefolkfestival

Donating in advance is not required, nor are we changing our policy of making Mountville open to all of our community regardless of current economic status! But advance donations help us have our costs covered up front even if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.

We are also both grateful and excited to partner with several regional businesses and organizations who share some of our mission, and/or our values and “vibe.” Their underwriting support together with our advance donations are helping us put Mountville on a sustainable path going forward, but there will also be some very cool new festival features this year too - including “swag bags” with goodies at Hospitality when you sign in. Come meet our 2024 underwriting partners here!

    T-SHIRTS

Preorders have closed for our special 30th Anniversary T-shirts, but we will have an array of colors and sizes available at Hospitality while supplies last. They are $30 each and payable when you pick them up - or if you can't make it, just email us and we'll make arrangements for payment and shipping.
