How to Help/DONATE IN ADVANCE
We often get asked what it costs to attend, and our answer even now remains the same; "whatever you can afford, or whatever it's worth to you." New for 2026 we are taking festival donations through the non-profit fundraising website Zeffy, which means that 100% of your donations go to supporting Mountville. Zeffy automatically adds a percentage donation to help cover their costs, but they do not require you to do so.
If you prefer, we will gratefully accept checks, made payable to: Mountville Folk Festival, c/o Catalooch Music, PO Box 81, Lincoln VA 20160. We always have the jar for cash and checks out at Hospitality during the festival as well.
Advance donations are a huge help in covering some of the larger expenses we incur before the festival weekend arrives. But music is a vital part of life and we don't want cost to be what keeps people away. Average ticket prices for smaller intimate festivals like ours seem to range $35-$75 per person per day, and that can be a lot - especially in our current economy.
While we don't have tickets or a set donation amount, we do have some milestone levels of support:
- $100 - Friend of Mountville, and your support is hugely appreciated
- $250 - Hero of Mountville (can have an ad in our program book and mention online if you wish)
- $500 - Performance Underwriter; your contribution completely supports one of our 11 Main Stage performances. If you wish, you (and/or your organization) will be featured on our website and social media, plus from the stage and in the program book.
Whatever you can, whatever it's worth to you, we'll be glad to have you here - we all need a good strong dose of musical medicine for the soul!
