An Epic Mountville is in the Books

WHEW! We will no doubt have much more to say in the next day or two, but we're pretty sure our collective mood is a blend of delirious euphoria, exhaustion, and perhaps even a bit of loving disbelief that it all went off exceptionally well!

This Mountville was a challenge; as our Treasurer Rich Wilkinson said, we pretty much rebuilt the entire plane in flight right down to the fuselage since early April. To be able to shift our funding approach to try to do something meaningful to help performing artists, and to try and help use our event to encourage more people to attend live music events in a time when venues are struggling to stay open. And on top of that, we get one of the most intense early summer heat waves we've had in a few years (we have had 98° Mountvilles in the past, but maybe not with the ground so dry).

And yet, somehow, magic happened ALL weekend. The sound system clung to life in the intense heat. The broadcast computer somehow managed to function too, although it felt like we were hanging onto the broadcast by a thread at times, our skilled but understaffed production crew managed to navigate every hurdle.

We sang, we feasted, we sweated, we shed some tears and shared some joy whenever a Tom Prasada-Rao song rang out across the mountainside. We worked our tails off, tackled all the challenges, and today the post-Mountville afternoon "nap collapses" have begun the recharging process.

We're tired, and happy, and most of all grateful that we were able to share this very special Mountville experience with you in person and online. We're so grateful to each of our 13 artists who gave us stellar performances one after another in mid-90s heat and humidity. To everyone who came, and especially those who lent a hand to help keep us going and make the experience better for all of us, thank you so much. Happy Mountville one and all.

(And of course, we'd love to know how Mountville was for you, in person or online!)
